A quality therapy experience.
The care and attention you deserve. Every session.
James offers only a select number of appointments per day. This enables him to give more energy and attention to you in-session and more time to your case outside of session – whether that be through written reflections, refinement of your treatment plan, conducting research, consulting with other health professionals, or preparing for your next session. This is a personal decision that James sees as a necessary part of providing quality therapy.
Evidence-based.
James has extensive training and experience in a wide range of evidence-based therapies, all of which he draws upon in his practice. His approach is most heavily influenced by the key teachings of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, he will always draw on a variety of therapies and strategies to tailor a unique and individualised approach to your treatment.
Highly personalised.
Everyone gets their own, personalised version of therapy. No two people are the same, and so no two people should get the same therapy. Instead, James takes the time to get to know you – your personal circumstances, history, preferences, and goals for therapy – and creates a personalised approach to therapy that is unique to you.
Given the care and attention required to do this, the practice only takes on a few new clients at a time. This can result in longer wait times at the outset, but ultimately results in the best care down the line.
